This is called presbyopia, it is when the eyes gradually lose the ability to see things clearly up close, this is a normal part of ageing. When we are younger the lens inside our eye is able to focus on things up-close and far away because it is flexible and soft but as we age the lens inside our eye becomes harder and less flexible which makes it harder to focus on things that are up close.

Rubbing your glasses with a dry microfiber cloth can actually damage your lenses when you clean your glasses with a dry cloth, this redistributes grease and rubs microscopic debris that can actually damage your lenses. This is why it is important to make sure that you are cleaning your glasses the right way at all times in order to avoid damaging your lenses and save them from getting scratched and in order to make sure that your glasses last you a long time to save you money in the longer run. Instead of rubbing your glasses with a dry cloth, you can begin to clean your glasses by running your glasses under lukewarm water for around 15 seconds, this helps to displace and dislodge excess grime.

Choosing the right pair of frames for your glasses can be difficult, especially if it is your first time or if you are switching out your frame after using your previous pair for a while as it can take some time to adjust to the look of new frames. Though it is particularly important to make sure that you pick out the perfect pair of frames to ensure that you look your best, and feel the most comfortable in your glasses. Yep, we’ve gone and done it again (humble brag). We sourced off-cuts, rejects and ex-circulation banknotes of all denominations from the Reserve Bank of Australia to create our latest frames. Aussie banknotes that have reached the end of their useful life as currency, and RBA production waste materials are processed and then made into the classic Dresden shape, (by us) in Sydney, Australia.

One of the things that brings us so much joy at Dresden is seeing customers visit our stores and find a pair of frames that truly reflects their personality and individual style.
