VOLUME 6: MADE OF MONEY. (LITERALLY) RECYCLED BANKNOTES, AND SUSTAINABLE GOALS.

“It takes a lot of money to look this cheap.” (Dolly Parton, Entrepreneurial Genius). In fact, it takes about $2500 in cash to make each our new Limited Edition Recycled Money frames. Yep, we’ve gone and done it again (humble brag). We sourced off-cuts, rejects and ex-circulation banknotes of all denominations from the Reserve Bank of Australia to create our latest frames. Aussie banknotes that have reached the end of their useful life as currency, and RBA production waste materials are processed and then made into the classic Dresden shape, (by us) in Sydney, Australia. We’re proud to realise another step in our long march toward zero waste. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Dresden. We set out to disrupt the eyewear industry, and we now know that’s a bloody tall order. We’re doing it one step at a time, by combining achievable targets with occasional huge leaps. This year we met our goal to turn our own manufacturing and post-consumer waste into new glasses. By mid 2023, every single pair of black glasses we make will be 100% recycled.
