I graduated with honours from the University of Wales, UK in 1986, and have been a member of the College of Optometrists since 1988. I’m therapeutically registered in the treatment of anterior eye conditions and glaucoma, and my optometry career has taken me to Europe, Africa and now Australia. I am experienced in low vision optometry and contact lens fitting, and I also work with the Brien Holden Foundation providing eyecare for indigenous Australians. I am the inventor of WolfChart, an open-source eyechart that works in an internet browser. It is used all over Australia and in countries where Latin script is not recognised – there are versions in Chinese, Arabic and Hebrew. Community involvement is important to me and so is sustainability – so Dresden is a great fit. As a home brewer, I love wearing frames that are made from recycled beer keg caps!

Bo is a friendly, professional and knowledgeable optometrist with 10+ years experience in the industry. Bo is passionate about understanding the individualised&nbsp;health of his patients and tailoring the management to their visual needs. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Optometry degree. Bo's area of interest is in myopia control - making sure the next generation have clearer vision, healthier eyes and a bright future. Bo is excellent at communication and understanding the person behind the eyes, he is also multilingual and able to consult in English, Cantonese and conversational Mandarin and Japanese. Outside of work Bo loves cooking up new recipes, playing the guitar and enjoying video games.

Book an Optometrist | Dresden Vision Australia

In an eye exam with us, your optometrist will create a detailed account of your eyes' past and present problems and note the most pressing concerns you have about your eyes and your vision. Your optometrist will then perform a series of measurements and tests in order to ascertain your eyeglass prescription as well as to address any health issues affecting your eyes. All results and findings will be explained and your optometrist will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Comprehensive Eye Examination

Whether you never wore contact lenses before or you are an existing contact lens wearer who is new to Dresden, this appointment is for you. Starting your journey into contact lenses requires an initial routine eye check before starting on contact lenses. Afterwards, if you have decided to start wearing contact lenses, you will have to learn a few things first.<ul><li>You and your optometrist will decide what type and style of contact lenses are best for you.</li><li>You will learn techniques to safely insert and remove contact lenses.</li><li>You will learn what to expect with contact lenses and how the vision may differ from glasses.</li><li>You will learn how to care for your contact lenses to prevent any possible contact lens related eye issues.&nbsp; </li></ul>After your prescription is finalised, you will be given trial contact lenses to take home or ordered for you before your follow up appointment. A first time wearer's journey into contact lenses involves two follow up appointments on average. Contact lenses usually dispensed after successful trial.&nbsp;

If you already have contacts and need an updated script or have questions regarding your contact lenses, your optometrist will collect information about the contact lenses you currently wear, such as what brand you use, how often you wear contact lenses, how comfortable you feel in your contact lenses, etc. If you require a change of script, your optometrist will recommend a trial for your new contact lenses with a follow up appointment before dispensing your new contacts.&nbsp;
