Dresden Workplace Series

For when you’re at the office

Let’s face it: at work, our brains multitask like a circus performer spinning plates on poles while bantering with the audience. But do you realise how much your eyes multitask during an average working day?

Perhaps you take your reading glasses on and off all the time. Or you find your multifocals are truly a pain in the neck? We have the glasses for you.

Enter Dresden’s Workplace Series. These workplace glasses are specifically designed to support your eyes to focus close up and further away, from your computer screen to across a meeting room.

Most of us switch frequently between near and mid-range vision as we go about our tasks – looking at our screen and keyboard, checking our notes, taking reading glasses on and off during meetings. Then, of course, catching the eye of a co-worker about to do the coffee run!

This all creates eye fatigue, and pain in the neck, shoulders and arms.

Why can’t I just use my reading glasses for computer work?

That’s a very good question. We’re glad you asked. The experts at Zeiss cover this in a nutshell:

“Initially, a pair of reading glasses may seem to be a good solution. But remember: reading glasses are designed for very close distances. To see text and images clearly on your computer, you need to move closer to the screen. By doing this, you inevitably adopt a poor and uncomfortable posture. This can result in tension in your neck and back. Even the most ergonomically correct office chair or the best mouse available won’t help.”

Nearly all of us need glasses for work as we get older, because focusing close up becomes more difficult. This is called presbyopia.

We all have enough to deal with at work without vision issues. An extra pair of glasses designed specially for the office, in one of our funky colours, could help make your workday a whole lot better.

With Dresden, it’s straightforward and affordable.

Work & Read

Is most of your work near-distance?  Work & Read lenses are designed to enhance near vision, taking into account the specific ergonomics involved in near-zone working.

  • Clear vision up to 1.5 metres.
  • Upper lens area designed for clear vision of your computer screen and immediate desk environment.
  • Lower lens area designed for clear close-up vision.
  • Allows a more natural posture to reduce strain, stress and tired eyes.

Suitable for close work, not for across your desk or beyond.

Work & Office series glassesWork & Office

If you need glasses for meetings and presentations as well as for working at your desk, Work & Office lenses will enhance both near and mid-distance vision.

  • Clear vision up to 3 metres.
  • Upper lens area designed for clear vision of your computer screen and across a small room.
  • Lower lens area designed for clear close-up vision.
  • Allows a more natural posture to reduce strain, stress and tired eyes.

Suitable for close work and looking around your workplace, but not for walking around or being out and about.

Work & Go

Do you get out and about a lot? Work & Go will work a treat for you. It’s a multipurpose progressive lens, designed for consistent performance at all distances – but specially enhanced for near and intermediate vision (what most people need indoors).

  • A near zone that’s 46% larger and an intermediate zone 51% larger than a standard progressive lens.
  • Reduced head and neck strain due to a wider near zone (this minimises the amount of movement needed for a clear view of your computer screen).
  • Fast switch from near to intermediate vision enhancement.
  • Fully sharp, virtually distortion-free distance zone – fine for driving around town!
